VJ Day 80 Commemoration

Join us in the historic setting of Stirling Castle’s Chapel Royal for a special public event commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) — a pivotal moment in global history marking the end of the Second World War.

Hosted by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, in partnership with the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Museum, Historic Environment Scotland and CofFEPOW, this event reflects on the human cost of the war in the Far East and honours those who served, suffered, and sacrificed.

The afternoon will feature a powerful and thought-provoking series of short presentations from military historians, heritage professionals, and family representatives. Together, we’ll explore the experiences of Scottish soldiers, including those from the 2nd Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, and civilians during the Far East conflict and the ongoing efforts to preserve their memory.

Tickets will be released on 6th August, but in the meantime you can set a reminder on the Eventbrite page: https://shorturl.at/u3uUo

Please note, this Eventbrite page is monitored by Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
